Tips for choose Massage Therapy school

Massage Therapy has been an area that has grown significantly in the recent years.  Massage Schools all over the country are filling classrooms over and over.  There are more Massage Therapy graduates than jobs.  Unfortunately, more than 75% of graduates never pursue a career in Massage Therapy.  They either cannot find a suitable position offering them fair pay or they try to start a private practice but quit shortly afterwards. Some even realize that the art of therapeutic massaging isn't something for them after all.

Massage Schools aren't inexpensive.  A good Massage Therapy Education costs anywhere from 8000 - 10000 dollars.  That doesn't include national certification fees and ongoing continuing education, necessary to keep a massage licence.  That is a lot of money to spend if you are not certain whether you have what it takes to be a Massage Therapist.

Having practiced Massage and Energy Healing for almost ten years, I have experienced my ups and downs.  I have worked for spas and now own my own business.  Having my own Massage Therapy and Energy Healing business comes with a great amount of personal satisfaction.  It was a long journey though, and I had to be patient and motivated.

For anybody wanting to learn Massage Therapy, it is important to find a good quality school that focuses on educating students versus filling classrooms.  Choose a massage school that offers classes in a low student to teacher ratio.  Another important factor is the classes taught and how many of them.  Are they teaching you 40 subjects in 6 months or 20 in one year?  How well will you be prepared to enter that new field?  But how do you know if that job is really for you?  Wanting to help people isn't good enough.  It takes much more.

Before you choose a massage school and enroll as a student, I encourage everyone to take an introductory Massage Class where you will learn the basics.  You will be encouraged to try out what you have learned over and over.  This will test your strength and stamina.  After you are done with this class, you will know whether you should choose this career path or find something more suitable for you.

The massage class that I recommend consists of 18 sessions and is taught right on-line.  You will be taught beginner and advanced techniques, anatomy, hot spots for pain relief and tension relief, safety body mechanics and more.  The cost is less than USD 2.00 per session.  After you have completed the study, you will either realize that Massage Therapy isn't for you and take the acquired skills to help your friends and family in need of a good massage.  Or you call the Massage School of your choice to enroll in the next class.
